Chapter Attendance Problems

Hello, I had an opportunity to discuss attendance with some local alumni. They stated that they did not or were at least hesitant to sign up for the event because it looked as if no one would be there. They told me that they had checked the "who's coming" list before signing up. I was left with the conclusion that no one wants to be one of the first few to sign up; rather, they want to be just one of the many who would be attending.

Has anyone else had this discussion with anyone in their region? If so, does anyone think we may be able to put up some events without listing the attendees?

Thanks! - Josh Ramos from Orlando

  1. That's a good point Josh and we have removed the link for that reason in some cases. A lot of people are hesitant to register if they see only a few names on the list or they don't know anyone on the list. Our new registration system allows us to set a minimum so that the link will not display until a certain number of people have registered. We could certainly start using that feature.

  2. I have mixed feelings on this. I like the idea of the attendee list showing names immediately when they register. They shouldn't be hesitant because of not wanting to be the first or not knowing anyone. The event is what counts. They either want to go or not. Remember, they can always cancel and get a full refund
